Debbie Askew has been a prominent mainstay in Orange County’s retail business for the past 10 years. After graduating college, Debbie opened the flagship Lola Rouge store, located at 17th Street Promenade, at the age of 21. She opened her latest store, Doll, this past year on May 5, 2011- a clothing and gift boutique that spotlights high end lines as well as a variety of affordable trends.
Debbie’s love of fashion stems from growing up in a household full of women where shopping was a favorite pastime. She has been picking out her own clothes since the young age of 1 ½, refusing to take off a shirt until her mother bought it for her! Since she loved shopping so much, her mother told her to learn to make a career out of it, and now we have Doll!
Doll is a neighborhood store catering to local people as well as draws customers worldwide. Debbie has become fast friends with many of her loyal customers, having seen their kids grow up and now watching them shop on their own, many having sat the kids table and produced work for the kids art exhibit in the store as well. Doll is vibrantly decorated with a multitude of colored walls that exhibit a girly modern feel to the space. Her California chic style is displayed not only in the lines she chooses, but in the gift and home décor room, with most gifs priced under $50.
Having been featured in the Orange County Register, Coast, Riviera, Daily Pilot, the Orange County Business Journal, Greer’s OC, and Where Magazine Orange County, Debbie ensures to keep us all looking good for years to come! In her spare time, Debbie enjoys spending time with her family and friends and traveling.
